\\WHERE CAN I PARK?

Parking will be available in the SRSC parking lot on race day. No parking pass? No problem! Parking will not be regulated during the hours of the race. However, we encourage taking one of the Bloomington buses or carpooling to ensure you arrive before the race starts!

 

 

\\WHERE IS THE COLOR?

There will be three color zones along the race route where you will be showered with color by our volunteers. There will be a color-free lane at each color zone in case you want to opt out. Then at the AfterGlow concert there will be more powder that you can use to glow more!

 

 

\\WHAT DO I WEAR?

The idea behind a Glow in the Dark 5K for an anti-stigma campaign is to express that even in times of darkness, you still GLOW, therefore, we suggest you wear all black to make your GLOW really stand out. You will receive a black GLOWOUTSTIGMA tank top and glow in the dark goodies as part of your #starterpack. We suggest wearing a banana or headband to prevent powder from getting in your eyes. Also, don't wear anything that you really care about – including your shoes! Be creative and funky with your race attire; no judgement here!

 

 

\\IS THE RACE TIMED?

Nope! This is a noncompetitive event meant for everyone to enjoy, so there will not be any race clocks. You are more than welcome to time yourself, however.

 

 

\\DO I HAVE TO PARTICIPATE IN THE RACE TO ATTEND THE CONCERT OR VISE VERSA?

We strongly encourage everyone who registers for the event to attend both parts to make the most of the experience. There will be no reimbursements made for individuals who only choose to participate in the concert or the race. 

 

 

\\WILL THERE BE FOOD?

Absolutely! As college kids, we know how much students love free food! There will be post-race snacks to replenish any lost nutrients during the race. We want as much energy as possible at the AfterGlow concert!

 

 

\\WHERE IS THE RACE ROUTE?

The race will begin at the SRSC and end at SRSC as well. For your convenience, you can find a map on the #Event page on our website!

 

 

\\WHAT IS THE #STARTERPACK?

The #starterpark is our gift to you for registering for the event. It's everything we think you need to get your GLOW on: an official GLOWOUTSTIGMA tank top, glow in the dark wristbands, a glow in the dark water bottle, glow in the dark glasses, candy, and of course, GLOW STICKS!

 

 

\\HOW WILL I GET THE COLOR OFF?

The color powder is very easy to remove. We suggest shaking off excessive powder before leaving the event and using a baby wipe on your skin before showering. We also recommend rinsing your GLOWOUTSTIGMA tank top in water before washing it in the washing machine!

 

 

\\CAN I TAKE PICTURES?

WE STRONGLY ENCOURAGE IT. We want to spread the word about ending stigma. Post pictures on all your fave social media websites with the hastags #GLOWOUTSTIGMA and #bethelight, and don't forget to tag us @GLOWOUTSTIGMA. As soon as we set up our official Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, and Snapchat we will be sure to share all of your photos. We do highly recommend carrying your phone in a plastic bag to prevent any powder from getting into it. 

 

 

\\HOW WILL I KNOW WHERE TO GO IF IT WILL BE DARK?

Don't even worry about it. There will be glowing markers along the route to direct you in the right path. Also volunteers will be standing along the route to help guide you as well as cheer you on! We've got your back.

 

 

\\WHAT IF I CAN'T MAKE IT?

Unfortunately, we will not be able to refund anyone once they have picked up their GLOWOUTSTIGMA tank top and #starterpack. If you registered and later found out you will not be able to attend but have not picked up your GLOWOUTSTIGMA tank top and #starterpack, that will not be an issue, and you will not be accountable for the cost of materials. However, we hope that everyone who registers will be able to participate without any issues!

 

\\WHAT IF I CAN'T PICK-UP MY SHIRT AND #STARTERPACK ON THE DESIGNATED DAY?

No problem! We will have a booth set up before the race begins for any last minute pick-ups and last minute registration. Just be sure to have $20 with you and be ready for some glow in the dark fun!
